Don’t Wear White Shoes After Labor Day
It’s a simple and long-held rule of fashion: You can’t wear white shoes after Labor Day. It’s very simple why this is: White is a Spring and Summer color, and white heels or pumps are just not acceptable once Fall is here. Everyone should know this, and everyone should adhere to this. While Fran Gerkenstine, Joshie Palmer, and their friend Denise McLaughlin understand this simple rule of fashion—going for shades other than the verboten white, poor misguided Marilyn Cooke has chosen to overlook this rule. In fact, she has decided that she is going to fly in the face of this very important fashion rule. Marilyn is one of the most fashionable girls at Green River Elementary. Other girls look to Marilyn to see what to wear. And she has decided that she is going to make wearing white shoes after Labor Day a new fashion trend. Too bad Mr. Clown reads Emily Post and believes that even the rules of fashion are important for little children to follow closely. So, Mr. Clown has decided to do a fashion intervention. He only hopes that Marilyn likes red… because that’s the color she’s going to be bringing back this Fall.

Mr Clown and the Seven Deadly Sins: Pride
Pride [prayhd] –noun
1.) A inordinately high opinion of one’s importance, merit, or superiority.
2.) The state or feeling of being proud.
On the one hand, it’s important to take a certain amount of pride in one’s self—be it taking care to dress nicely or appropriately, to complete work and tasks in a timely and acceptable fashion, or even to conduct one’s self as a mature individual with integrity. However, as with anything pride can be taken to an extreme—leading to places no one should ever go. That’s the situation that Lisa Berry has put herself in. Lisa very much wants to be the Green River Elementary 5th Grade Class President. She has declared that she is the only person capable of leading the 5th Grade to lofty heights. She has even decided that she is the only cool person in the entire 5th Grade and is prettier than all the other girls in her class, perhaps the entire school. Her self-esteem has become so bloated by her false sense of pride in her alleged accomplishments that she acts as though she is better than every one else. She has even come to a place where she rubs her perceived awesomeness in the faces of Fran Gerkenstine and her friend Joshie Palmer every morning on the way to Science Class. Fran and Joshie have both tried to warn Lisa that she is going down a dark path—letting her pride turn her into an unbearable braggart. And, that Mr. Clown is standing right behind her this morning with one of his most favorite knives. It’s too bad that Lisa won’t stop bragging long enough to hear their warnings, isn’t it boys and girls? Poor Lisa. Her pride has really gotten her into a real jam this time!

Don’t Forget To Wear Green!
Every year when St. Patrick’s Day comes around, all of the good little children of Green River remember to dress in green. By dressing in green they honor the memory of St. Patrick and avoiding getting pinched! However, this year Bucky Wilson has decided that wearing green is so lame. He would much rather wear his favorite red shirt and tan pants! Who needs to follow some silly old tradition on some silly holiday? Fran Gerkenstine and her friend Joshie Palmer know the real importance of holidays and wouldn’t be caught dead not wearing green on St. Patrick’s Day! Bucky, however is about to get caught dead not wearing green… Caught dead by Mr. Clown! Mr. Clown has his shiny new hedge-clippers and is going teach Bucky what happens to bad little boys and girls who don’t follow holiday rules! Boy, are those hedge-clippers going to pinch! Not even Fran can stop the lesson by offering her favorite green scarf. Poor poor Bucky. Lucky you like red… Mr. Clown is going to make sure you get to see lots and lots of red!
